Empowering marginalized rural community through ensuring maximum literacy and quality education.
Model Village Trust acknowledges the crucial role of education in economic, social, and cultural development of the nation. To imagine growth while large parts of the region bounded in illiteracy is just impossible. For MVT, building quality institutions to provide ‘the right’ education will help a downtrodden community move forward, build their life, and participate in the nation building.

Our education programs aim at improving literacy level within the villages to reach at least the national level, maximizing enrolment of children in school education, preventing dropout, ensuring equal participation of girls in formal education, and creating awareness on education among the villagers.

Our Approach :

Right Based Approach:

Model Village Trust believes that education is universal human right and every individual including children is entitled to quality education. We act to ensure inclusion, dignity and equality of opportunity of all children.

Community Resource Development:

Through our programs, we ensure that both human and non-human resources are developed at community level to ensure the long-term sustainability.

Gender Equality:

Gender equality is an essential element in MVT’s educational initiatives. Our initiatives are tailored to keep the needs of girls in remote village in mind.

Our Initiatives :

One Teacher School:

Education of children fails to become major concern for many rural families struggling to meet their basic needs. Poor educational infrastructure combining with unfavourable socio-economic state of remote villages results in unsatisfactory educational status at all levels including primary school.

One Teacher School is a unique project of Model Village Trust tailored to address the issue of learning crisis and achieve zero drop out at primary level. We impart basic education to the children out of school and make them ready for their age-appropriate classes.

In addition to the education support, One Teacher School help children in their moral and cultural development. Through this program we are committed to build a strong foundation for rural children so that they can leap forward and outshine in their higher education.

Student Learning Center:

The core idea behind setting up Student Learning Centre is to facilitate rural students to pursue their higher education and achieve their career goals as it has been observed that significant improvements in elementary education are not followed by equal progress in higher level.
Student Learning Centre provides students a platform for their overall development.

Parwaaz:

For millions of children living in rural India, education is still a luxury. Many of them are forced to drop out before completing their schooling. The roadblocks for them are many including unavailability of schools in villages, poor quality of teaching, lack of transport facilities, safety issues (mainly for girls), financial constraints and casual attitude towards education.
Program targets rural children and youth who have to drop out of formal schooling system before completion of their school education. In the areas, where inaccessibility to schools is the main reason behind the issue of drop out, we promote open schooling as an alternative system for the students to complete their school education.
Parwaaz work towards reducing the disparities in access to education in rural community.

Career Guidance and Counselling:

Career Guidance and Counselling program for rural students aims to facilitate them in taking well informed educational and occupational decisions. Sessions train the young minds and leads to their overall development.

Student Support:

UNISEF estimates that there are 25 million orphaned children in India which is around 4 % of their population. We believe that education is the key to unlock great opportunities in life and is right of every child. Through VISION 2026’s Orphan Support Program, we are offering financial aid in the form of scholarship to orphan students in our adopted villages. Program helps children above the age of 13 years to complete their schooling as well as higher education.
We not only provide them financial assistance but guide them to reap the maximum benefit from it through one to one counselling, career guidance and individual planning for each student.
